Fellowship in Emergency Medicine
Course Overview
The Fellowship in Emergency Medicine course is a 1 year full time course. This course helps doctors enhance their knowledge and skills required for the prevention, diagnosis and management of acute and urgent aspects of illness and injury affecting patients of all age groups. This course will enable the student build competencies in triaging patients, identification and treatment of life threatening emergencies, resuscitating a critically ill patient and performing lifesaving procedures in addition to having good communication and counselling skills. This course is specially aimed at doctors interested in enhancing their emergency care skills or making a career in emergency medicine. Any MBBS graduate registered with State Medical Council or the Medical Council of India (MCI) is eligible to take this course. This course presents multiple career opportunities to doctors wishing to pursue this specialty. Apart from being consultants in Emergency Departments, Emergency Physicians can become the best Emergency Department administrators, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) directors, EMS and Paramedic trainers, Disaster planning consultants, EM research directors, first aid trainers for non-medical personnel, etc. This course also serves as a foundation for the Membership of the College of Emergency Medicine, UK. This course is accredited by Royal Liverpool Academy (RLA), UK and jointly certified by RLA and Medvarsity.
Eligibility
These courses are open to MBBS graduates with MCI/State Medical Council Registration.
