Neotia Getwel Multispecialty Hospital in an effort to spread awareness about the health of heart and cardio vascular disease (CVD) amongst the people of Siliguri, North Bengal & adjoining areas organized a walkathon on 29th September 2016 from Bhagajatin Park to Panitanki More.
The programme was flagged off by raising balloons near bhagajatin park, Siliguri with participants from society, Neotia Getwel Multispecialty Hospital staffs & students from GD Goenka School .Eminent cardiologist of Siliguri Dr.Joy Sanyal & Dr.Rajesh Nanda associated with Neotia Getwel Multispecialty Hospital were present on the occasion.
Shri Anurag Srivastav, DM, Darjeeling district and Shri Kuldeep Singh, IG, SSB Siliguri frontier was the special guest of Honor on the occasion.
World Heart Day on 29 September is the World Heart Federation’s (and the world’s!) biggest platform for raising awareness about cardiovascular disease. A particular theme is decided for the each year celebration in order to focus on the main subject and make it effective. Theme is prepared by keeping in mind the key issues of heart health. This year the theme is ‘Power your Life’
The main purpose of the walkathon was raise awareness amongst everyone and makes understand about what they can do to fuel their hearts and power their lives.
The event was organized to mark World Heart Day.
